  • Nephila pilipes (Northern golden orb weaver)  is a species of golden orb-web spider.
  • It is commonly found in primary & secondary forest and gardens.
  • Females are 4 to 10 times larger than males.
  • Nephila pilipes display sexual dimorphism, the present of distinct difference between the males and females species .
  • Raglai people in Vietnamese province consume the spider after roasting, and consider them a healthy food source.
